Campus
Northeast Christian College is located on the banks of the beautiful Nashwaak River of Fredericton New Brunswick. The city of Fredericton is an important cultural, artistic, and educational centre for the province, housing many post-secondary institutions as well as cultural institutions like the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the York Sunbury Museum, and The Playhouse—a performing arts venue. The city hosts the annual Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, attracting regional and international jazz, blues and world artists.
The two dormitory buildings, located just minutes from the school, are also within walking distance of Capital Community Church, Pastored by Raymond Woodward. A coffee shop, pharmacy, gas station and many walking trials are also just a few minutes from the dorms. The college is conveniently located on a bus route, which provides regular service to the downtown area, shopping malls and restaurants.
Classes
Classes are held in the new school building and are taught by local men and women with years of experience in the ministry, who have dedicated their lives to the study of the word of God. They are able to not only teach but share practical advice while being sensitive to what God wants for the class.
Many teachers have stopped their lessons to shift focus and express what God is pressing upon their hearts. At times, the students are even asked to pray as God’s spirit moves in the room.
Classes begin on Tuesday morning after an hour long chapel service. At 12:00 students have an hour and fifteen minute lunch break and classes reside in the afternoon. On Wednesday’s classes are held in the morning, with chapel beginning at eleven, followed by prayer and classes during the afternoon. Thursday mornings are dedicated to an hour long prayer meeting in the chapel and classes begin afterwards. Friday afternoon services welcome visiting ministers from all over the globe, including home and foreign missionaries to speak to the student body.
Life In Residence
Living on residence is an experience all on its own. It gives the students a chance to connect with each other in a way that they may not if living off campus. Men’s devotions, organized by students are held routinely at the men’s dormitory building and Girls devotions are held at the girl’s dormitory. Secret sister, birthday parties, basketball and soccer games and both school and class socials are also often organized by students.
Students often hang-out in the student lounge located on the floor above the cafeteria of the dorm building. Couches and chairs provide a comfortable study area and tables make available room for board games. A Ping-Pong table is also a large part of the entertainment at the dorms.
Accommodations
All dormitory rooms are furnished with single beds, mattresses, a desk, chair, chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Students should bring bedding, towels and any other desired items, such as a lamp, fan, mirror, fridge, microwave etc. Laundry facilities are located in each dorm building for the use of the students at a small metered rate. Student parking is also available.
Residence Requirements
All single students are required to reside at the dorms except by special permission. NCC students living on residence are expected to help maintain clean living quarters by keeping rooms tidy, beds made, laundry washed and the dorm facilities clean.
Married students are required to find their own housing as unfortunately at this time NCC does not have its own accommodations for married students.
